This year, distance learning has gone by smoothly for me. Last year was my first year taking classes online, and I had an extremely difficult time adjusting to the online material. This year I know what to expect, so taking online classes has fit perfectly into my schedule. When I'm a teacher, something that I would like to do to make distance learning easier is create weekly online meetings for students that are struggling. This way, students will be able to address any problems or concerns they may have.      Open Educational Resources (OER's) are educational tools that people students can use on their own, or edit and change. These are open, meaning that they allow students to use them for free. These can be shared and kept among students as well. Many teachers love to use OER's within their classroom, because it is a free way for their students to learn a plethora of new information.  https://www.oercommons.org/courses/100-free-web-tools-for-elementary-teachers/vi

By working on the Web Design assignment, I was able to learn new skills as well as practice the skills I had learned in the past. I loved that I was able to customize the design in the way that I liked it, and could make changes and adjustments to any portion of the website. I also loved that I could actually publish the website, making it available for the public to see. There wasn't much that I disliked about the website, except for the fact that I liked the website design Wix better. In my future career, I can definitely use this software to create an engaging website for parents and students to work with.     https://alexchapmanssite.weebly.com/     By working with Diigo, I was able to effectively communicate with my classmates and teacher, comment on important topics, and highlight and take notes on important documents relating to the class. This application made organization easier, and helped me learn many more online skills. In the future, I am confident that I will b

When reading the teachers' blog pages from Leon County High School, I mostly learned that the purpose of them were to inform the parents of general information about the classroom and their activities. I clicked one individual student's page, and there was a short list of contact information and class announcements. These webpages could be extremely useful to serve as weekly newsletters for parents, especially during the time of a pandemic. These pages give teachers another way to communicate with parents, which is also extremely important.      In the future, I envision myself using a plethora of different technological resources as a schoolteacher. As I learn more information about different programs and features, I have been able to narrow down which ones I would be comfortable using in the classroom. These include blogging features, Canva, and the many different ways to send class announcements and communicate with the students' families. These programs and softw

I did not have a great initial experience when using the program diigo. I found the website layout confusing, and had a difficult time bookmarking pages. When I eventually bookmarked my page, I was confused about which post was my own, and which had come from my classmates. Although this experience was negative with the program, I loved how I was able to highlight and comment on documents on my computer. This is extremely useful for taking notes and remembering important information, and I will definitely be using that in the future.      So far, I have enjoyed my experience with blogging. It is extremely interesting to see my classmates posts, and forming opinions of my own to post about different topics. Before this class, I had never blogged before, so this was completely new to me. So far, I have learned how to post a blog, and how to find my classmates' blogs to read and comment on.      The Web 2.0 tool that I found was a program called Kidblog. This is an interactive p

I have always heard of twitter, but I have never actually created a twitter account until I took this course. Before taking this class, my experience with the platform consisted of viewing famous tweets from professional accounts. Currently, I have been able to interact with important teaching accounts, allowing me to learn more information about the teaching community. Twitter can be extremely beneficial in my future career, because there are so many teachers and education-related accounts that could introduce inspiration and material.      The digital divide is a major difference in technology access among students, something that leaves many students having unequal opportunities and resources. Many students have access to readily available technology, such as tablets and newer laptops. Many students aren't as fortunate, and don't have any technology outside of the classroom. This puts these students at a great disadvantage, and lessen the likelihood of more opportunities wit
