After reading the third grade level of Standards and Technology Matrices for ELA, I am confident in some of the requirements listed. Many of these standards were aimed towards organizing online information, quickly locating certain material, and gathering main ideas of certain texts. There are many resources that I am completely familiar with, such as Prezi, online textbooks, and Smartboards. I am confident that  would be able to guide a class using these resources in the future. There were also a few resources I wasn't familiar with, such as Symbaloo, LiveBinder, and Pixlr. I wouldn't be able to understand these programs immediately, but would be able to do so with the proper training and classes.      The tool that I used from the CPALMS Educator toolkit was an interactive verb workshop designed for third grade students. Some of this tool included verb games that allow students to learn more about action verbs, helping verbs, and different verb tenses. As an aspiring E

Copyright is a term used for creators' protection of work. It is used on original photographs or writing to keep others from stealing or using it without permission. Fair use is a term to describe a set of limitations and rules for the use of copyright materials. A lot of the works that are used within these guidelines are for educational use, and therefore are protected under these guidelines. Dealing with these concepts as a teacher is extremely important. It is crucial for educational leaders to follow copyright laws when creating lesson plans for teaching, and paying the appropriate creators if necessary. Informing students about copyright and making sure they give credit to appropriate creators is also extremely important.      Academic dishonesty is an issue that occurs in schools across the nation. It involves students using work that is not their own, failing to give credit to the original creator, and receiving a grade or evaluation that they aren't deserving of.

I learned how to write many of my first essays on Microsoft Word, and continued to do so through the software until my freshman year of high school. When I started my freshman year, I was introduced to an application called Pages, where I could also write papers and complete various assignments. I quickly became more comfortable with this application, because I found it easier to navigate. I would prefer this software, but I also enjoy using Microsoft Word as well.      After reading the ISTE Standards for Educators, the standard that stuck out the most to me was the designer standard. This standard states that through various technologies and creative resources, teachers can create facilitate a great learning experience for their students. I find this extremely important because I believe that students learn more material when in a creative

Hello everyone! I am very excited to be participating in EME2040 this semester!  My name is Alex Chapman, and I'm a sophomore at Florida State University. Right now I'm not fully admitted into my major, but I am working towards getting accepted into the elementary education program at Florida State! I'm from Orlando, and I am currently living in Tallahassee with three roommates in an apartment. After I graduate, I hope to teach third grade English courses.  Since my goal is to become a teacher, I am very excited to be learning new ways to use technology throughout this course. I am not familiar with many different computer programs, and I am eager to learn new skills within technology that I may be able to use in the classroom in the future. I know how to use Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel, but I have a harder time using applications such as Canvas and other design features.  After taking this course, I hope to be more comfortable with different programs tha
